The ODell family!

I recently had the pleasure of meeting the ODell family for their family session at Heritage Park. It was a gorgeous day to walk around and enjoy the weather!

JP and Josie have two awesome boys: PJ and AJ! They are the sweetest bunch and are a tight nit family that loves each other so much! Josie describes her family as resilient, funny, and resourceful.

The ODell’s recently moved to Virginia from Texas and are getting used to the cooler weather. They have travelled a lot with JP being in the military. They are liking the New River Valley area!

As a family they enjoy eating out, exploring the places they get to live in, going to baseball games when they can make it work. They also enjoy visiting family they have in the Southwestern part of the state. They have travelled so much that having family within driving distance has been a treat!

I asked Josie to describe each of her family members to me and she shared that JP “is an avid outdoorsman. He loves nature and to spend time fishing, hunting, hiking. As a military guy, he embodies integrity, courage, discipline, and loyalty, alongside qualities like resilience, teamwork, confidence, and adaptability.”

“My eldest son, PJ, is funny, smart, and shy (sometimes lol). He is really teaching us how to navigate the teenage years with grace, love, patience and dedication. He loves baseball and plays for Prime (travel team) and the JV team of his HS.”

“AJ, my youngest, is in his own world ;). He is the most resilient of us all. Unlike his brother and father he’d much rather play Minecraft than go hiking or fishing and he does not like sports. He enjoys reading the Hunger Games book series, loves Pokémon, animals, and playing guitar. He doesn’t have a musical genre preference yet and enjoys playing for us the tunes he is learning in class. AJ has already decided that he is going to be a Vet when he graduates high school and is working hard at school to get there.”

While Josie didn’t describe herself to me, I can tell you that I really enjoyed getting to know her as we walked around. She is so friendly and such a champion of her family. She adores her husband and boys! She might genuinely be one of the nicest people I have ever met!

I hope you can tell from the photos what a great time I had with the ODells!
