Rachel & Leland | Smithfield Plantation Wedding Photography
I’ve got another stunning wedding for you guys today! The adorable couple consists of Rachel and Leland, two people that anyone would love to know.
Their wedding day was truly noteworthy. Rachel was absolutely stunning. She was surrounded by family and friends that made it clear what a special person she is. Leland wasn’t any different. He is kind, a great friend, and will clearly be a wonderful husband to Rachel. What a couple.
The bride’s dress was seriously gorgeous, too. And I’m not just saying that! When I asked Rachel to tell me about her dress buying experience this is what she had to say: “My mom came down for the weekend and we dressed shopped at a few places in Roanoke. We ended up finding the dress at a store called Patina. It actually wasn’t the style that I thought I wanted, but after seeing the kinds of dresses I was picking and the styles I was gravitating to, the woman helping us went up front and took a brand new one that they’d gotten in that week off of the mannequin. She brought it over, and I really loved the way it fit, the way it felt, and the way I looked in it. After narrowing it down to mine and one other, I tried it on one last time. I said to myself that if we could buy it off the mannequin (the woman helping us had gone to check with her boss, because since it was new that week), than I would get it! She came back and said it was mine if I wanted it, and I started crying. I loved it! Also, it had been my prayer going into dress shopping that we’d #1 find a dress that weekend, #2 it would be in our price range, #3 that we could buy it off the rack that day, and #4 that it would require little to no alterations… and all of those prayers were answered!”
We had a lot of fun taking wedding pictures, as well. They decided to not see each other until Rachel was walking down the aisle. The emotion I captured in Leland’s face, was truly priceless!
The wedding was at Blacksburg United Methodist Church, the reception was at Smithfield Plantation, and was catered by Two Trees (A-MAZING). They danced to their first song, Amen, by Dave Barnes which was played by DJ David Verde, DV Entertainment.
When I asked Rachel to tell me about her experience working with us on her wedding day, she said “It was wonderful! You were very professional, and kept us on task while still asking my opinion. I felt respected and heard, and I loved how excited you got about the pictures in the field! I loved your creativity, and am so excited to see how all of these turned out”.
Okay, let’s get to the pictures! Rachel and Leland were such a delight to work with and I wish them many wonderful years to come.
