Let’s all give it up for one of the happiest couples on the planet: Stephanie & Dustin
Stephanie told me all about how Dustin and she met. In the Summer of 2009, Stephanie’s sister & Matron of Honor- Beth- introduced Stephanie to Dustin. Stephanie had just completed her freshman year at Virginia Tech and Dustin was returning to Virginia Tech for a second degree. Beth & Dustin graduated high school together in 2005 and knowing what a great guy Dustin was, Beth had to introduce them since they would both be in Blacksburg that August! They went on a few dates before they officially started dating in July 2009. After several years of dating and living in a few different cities (Richmond, Boston, and Charleston)- Dustin proposed on October 11, 2015!
She also filled me in on the proposal. Originally, the proposal was supposed to take place on October 3rd at a Virginia Tech home football game but due to severe flooding/rain and a late postal service delivery that did not happen. The next weekend, Stephanie’s Mom and Dustin’s Grandmother visited them in Charleston for the weekend. Dustin had planned to go to a local plantation and propose there but it was still muddy from the floods the weekend before and even MORE rain the weekend they were visiting. Once the rain stopped, Dustin, Stephanie, her Mom, and his Grandmother went down to the Charleston waterfront to walk around and see the sites. Dustin suggested they take a picture near the infamous pineapple fountain and then he dropped to one knee while Stephanie’s Mom was taking the picture! Stephanie, her Mom, and his Grandmother had NO idea he was going to propose so it was quite the surprise to everyone! Stephanie first asked if he was kidding and then quickly said “YES”!
Their wedding date is set for August 6, 2016. Being from the same hometown, Stephanie and Dustin wanted to get married in Franklin County so the wedding will be at Stephanie’s Great Aunt’s farm in Union Hall, VA. The ceremony will be held in an open field next to the barn. The barn was built and completed in 2015 so Stephanie and Dustin are excited to be the first couple to get married there! The reception will be held in the barn at the farm in Union Hall, VA. They are very excited about their reception food which will be served family style by Hethwood Market from Blacksburg! I know first hand how awesome that caterer is!
They are not only excited about the wedding details, but they’re also excited to spend the rest of their lives together. It’s so clear that this couple is head-over-heels for each other!
