Whitney + David | A Blacksburg Engagement Session
Whitney and David are engaged!! I am so excited to tell you about this awesome couple! I know Whitney from her awesome softball coaching of my daughter so when she shared that she was getting married I was super excited for her! And now I get to share their photos with all of you!
Whitney and David met when they were both in VCOM. One night some friends of Whitneys’ went bowling and David came along. It didn’t take him long to fall for Whitney! They began dating soon thereafter and the rest is history!
I asked Whitney to tell me all about how he engaged and she had the sweetest story to share: “It was Christmas Day and Dave usually spends it with his family because it’s also his birthday. I was in Tazewell with my family and he was in Roanoke with his. I talked to him a few times throughout the day and he called me that afternoon and asked what I was doing the rest of the evening. He was on his way home and I was watching a Christmas Hallmark movie (my favorite) so I told him I’d talk to him later. My dad and I were on the couch when I heard someone coming up our driveway. He said it was our neighbor on the four wheeler so I thought nothing of it. I was so involved in the movie that I didn’t hear my mom tell dad someone was at the door for him. Mom then came and told me to get dressed (I had gym shorts and a t-shirt on) because we were going to our neighbors to exchange gifts. I was slightly annoyed because our neighbors see me in workout clothes all the time so I didn’t understand why I had to put nice clothes on. I came back downstairs and she yelled at me again because I hadn’t fixed my hair. I sulked back upstairs and put my hair in a sock bun and threw some makeup on. When I came back downstairs, Dave somehow snuck in the room behind me and when I turned around he was standing in front of the Christmas Tree. When I asked him what he was doing there, he said “I came to ask you something.” Then he got down on one knee and pulled out the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen.”
Isn’t that the best?? How adorable!
Whitney and David are going to have a rustic wedding at Lovewell Lodge in Pembroke, Virginia. They are both Virginia natives so they wanted a wedding that would reflect them in their true light! I cannot wait for their wedding on September 4, 2016! I also get to photograph their wedding day! Yay!!
Oh.. I forgot to mention that they brought the two most adorable puppies with them for their session. Yes, I have the best job ever!
