“Athletic, quiet, polite.” Those are the three words that Noah uses to describe himself. He is 100% correct! I would have to add in, humble. Despite his many, many accomplishments, he would never be the one to tell you about any of them. He prefers to let his character and his accomplishments speak for him instead.

If you have ever read my blogs before you would know how much I love to see my former students again when they come back as seniors. Noah is absolutely one of them! I remember Noah so well as a little 7th grader in my math class. He was all of those traits he described above and more. The sweetest kid and so kind. So absolutely kind. Not much has changed in that aspect in the past 5 years. He is still super awesome and I loved being able to see him again and photograph this time in his life!

Noah is on the track and football teams for Blacksburg High School. That’s about all he shared with me. When I asked his mom for some elaboration, she was happy to share that he has many accomplishments. In track and field, Noah is the the 3rd fastest sprinter in Blacksburg history! Like OF ALL TIME! What??!! Wow!!! He has qualified, competed in, and placed at National track meets and has many state titles (“Gold”), as well as many silver and bronzes too! They have so many there isn’t even a count anymore! Noah currently holds many records at Blacksburg in addition to the title of the “third fastest man in history at BHS”. Noah was awarded the 2017 Sprinter of the Year in Track and Field at Blacksburg High School. Now, just to emphasize how humble Noah really is, he told me none of these details. When I asked him about how he does in comparison he told me does well, but mentioned a teammate that he respects and then went on to describe how that young man is a great sprinter. What a neat person to take an opportunity to talk about himself and instead shine the light on a teammate.

In addition to the track and field, Noah has played football for BHS all four years. BHS even one the state championship last year! How awesome! Noah is a super important part of the team too.

Noah told me he enjoys being outdoors but does spend most of his time training and practicing for whatever sport he is currently playing. His favorite TV shows are the Walking Dead, the Office, and Impractical Jokers. He also told me about how much he enjoys doing mission work. He was recently in Haiti on a mission trip! He told me that it was a “life changing experience.”

Noah shared with me that family is super important to him and he tries to spend as much time as he can with them. Noah’s mother told me: “Noah has just been a joy to raise. He has never given me any trouble, always makes good grades, and has the biggest heart, best manners, and best morals ever! He is mature beyond his years and he really cares about people. He has always told me that he wants to make a difference in life and wants to do something by helping people and saving lives. I don’t know how I got so lucky to be his mom, but he is truly a gem. Sweetest kid ever.” Isn’t that just the best?!!! I told you Noah was something special!!!

Noah hasn’t made any decisions on college yet. He is pretty sure he wants to major in biology. I am 100% that whatever school he chooses and whatever major he decides upon, Noah is going places. This world is absolutely all the better for having Noah in it. I know his mom said she is lucky to be his mom but I do believe we are all lucky that Noah is in our world. I adore him!

I wanted to add one thing. I ask all of my seniors in a questionnaire after their session how their session was. I like to get feedback and check in on how their experience was. Noah’s response is one of my faves! He said, “I had a very good time during my session. I thought it was cool that my 7th grade teacher was doing my senior pictures.” Humble, sweet, polite. All the way to the end. Love him!

Okay! Enough from me! I bet you’d like to see more photos!!!
