Sophia is a senior!!
I am so excited to share Sophia’s senior session with you all today! I met Sophia at Heritage Park in Blacksburg, Virginia recently for her high school senior portrait session. I was an absolutely frigid day but Sophia was a trooper!!!
Sophia is a senior at Blacksburg High School where she enjoys studying Physics, English, Calculus, Art, and Biology. If you cannot tell by that list, Sophia is a top student! I can tell you this first hand because I had the privilege of teaching her Algebra when she was a 7th grader! She was an awesome young lady back then and continues to be impressive!
“Creative, humorous, and easy-going” are the words Sophia uses to describe herself. I would also say she is driven, kind, and very thoughtful. She’s the kind of person that you don’t easily forget. One awesome human being.
In addition to being an amazing student, Sophia is very active in school. She plays on the BHS Varsity soccer team, plays violin in the orchestra, is a member of the National Science Honor Society, in the BHS Art Guild, as well as Bruin Broadcast. Wow! What a list!
When Sophia is not busy with that long list I just mentioned, she does find time for some fun. She enjoys crocheting, sewing, drawing, painting, cooking meals, and watching movies. Sophia told me that her musical tastes tend to vary a lot. Right now she’s enjoying HAIM, Chvrches, Purity Ring, spill tab, and Wolf Alice. Her favorite TV shows are The Sandman, Westworld, and The Haunting of Hill House. Her favorite movies are Blade Runner 2049, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Annihilation, and Minari.
I am sure you can tell from all I have shared that Sophia’s college prospects are vast. She has not narrowed down where exactly she will be attending next year, but she does know that she wants to incorporate studying infections diseases/public health and filmmaking into her major/career. She’s working on where will be the perfect place to make that happen. No doubt when she decides it will be somewhere awesome and they will be lucky to have her!
