What an AWESOME time I had with Jennifer and Todd!
We met in Roanoke recently for their engagement session. It was a beautiful day and we had a wonderful time walking around, getting to know each other, and talking about their upcoming wedding in June 2018! They are so excited and I am too! They are a super fun couple!
Jennifer and Todd met through a mutual friend one summer. Jennifer told me that “Todd used to setup a television on his front porch to watch baseball games and the NHL playoffs. I lived on the floor above and he would invite several people over, including me and Todd. We initially began communicating through an app called HeyTell, which lets you send short voice messages to your friends, and we just hit it off from there!” How sweet! Love that!
They dated for a long time and then came the proposal! Jennifer told me the story! “Todd proposed to me in Niagara Falls (the Canada side of course). We had a wonderful dinner at the Skylon Tower in the rotating dining room and afterwards went to the observation deck to admire the view. While up there we wanted a photo together as you could see the falls behind us so Todd asked a random stranger to take our photo. Todd saw the photo (to check to make sure the falls could be seen with our positions) and requested the guy to take one more and… that is when he got down on one knee. I immediately began to cry and was in complete shock. (It is still a debate as to whether he actually said “will you marry me,” I personally do not recall but he claims he did.) Lucky for us the man allowed us to have our moment and then proceeded to say “I didn’t know what to do so I kept taking photos.” We are very fortunate to have photos of the moment to look back on!” Jennifer then said, “thinking back to it now, it all starts to make sense; Todd was walking funny (he was trying to hide the ring box in his pant pocket) on the way to dinner and he was extremely on edge throughout dinner. But in the end it all worked out and we still had winery tours scheduled the next day to celebrate.” What a perfect story!
Some of their favorite things to do together are to attend Virginia Tech football games (Go Hokies!), spend time with their puppy, their friends, and their family. They also love to go kayaking, hiking, watch jeopardy, and travel. That sounds like a couple that is going to enjoy many, many years together! They have so many wonderful interests to share!
One of my favorite things that Jennifer told me when I asked her what she was most excited about now that they are engaged was to, “celebrate our love at our wedding.” Too sweet!
