Kelsey and Liam are married!
This was one fun wedding for an absolutely fun couple!
Kelsey and Liam are from New Jersey and they decided to have a mountain retreat wedding. Kelsey’s father found Mountain Lake Lodge online and that was it! Friends and family came far and wide to celebrate this awesome pair!
Liam and Kelsey are very adventurous and love being outdoors. They just finished a two month stretch of hiking the Appalachian Trail and after the wedding will be heading to New Zealand for about six months. The plan to explore and just enjoy being together. How absolutely perfect! Mountain Lake was a great spot for them because it offered nature hikes and so many gorgeous views. Just what they enjoy!
The Preparations
When I first arrived, Kelsey was at the Narrows cabin with her bridesmaids and flowergirls. They looked stunning and had done their own hair and makeup. Kelsey’s dress was designed by Catherine Dean (https://www.BHLDN.com). What a stunning dress it was too! Her flowers were from THE BEST florist in the New River Valley, Stonecrop Farms (www.stonecropfarmers.com).
The Ceremony
Once the girls were ready we headed over to the gazebo for the wedding to begin! It was a perfect day. The temperature was just right and the sky was clear and beautiful! They did “rock, paper, scissors” to decide who would read their vows first and it was awesome! The entire ceremony was wonderful to witness. So much love!
After the ceremony the wedding party was shuttled by Mountain Lake Resort up to the lookout. What an amazing view! It was over 4000 feet above sea level! Wow!
The Views
After we dropped the wedding party back at the reception so they could relax and enjoy some downtime at the cocktail hour, Kelsey, Liam, and we went up to Bald Knob for some of the most amazing photographs ever! What a gorgeous location and it was the perfect moment to be there. The sun was just setting over the horizon.
The Reception
Once we made our way back down the trail to the lodge, we joined the reception for the rest of the evening’s festivities. Mountain Lake catered with delicious dinner and desserts. The DJ from Music, Music, & More Music (http://musicmusicandmusic.com/) kept the party going! There was never a moment without people up and dancing. What a fun night!! Oh.. and their first dance… well that was something else! Perfect! Just like the couple :).
