What an awesome morning session!
Kalina and I had a session scheduled the week before but due to the torrential rains that came that day, we had reschedule. We worked out a morning session which had a little fog but turned out to burn off by the time we made it to the mountains. “Determined, genuine, and caring” are the three adjectives Kalina used to describe herself. What awesome adjectives to use! Kalina is a strong and focused young woman so “determined” is a great way to sum that up. I do agree that she is also genuine. She is in the moment and real when you speak with her and that is awesome. She is very compassionate and caring as well. Kalina has a lot of great friends with whom she has created many memories. Those types of friendships only come to people that are determined, genuine, and caring!
I have to add Kalina to my growing list of awesome senior sessions. She is another one of my 7th grade advanced math graduates. Kalina was so much fun to have in class and always had a big smile on her face. She reminded me during our session that she was in my 7th period class of the day, which was a goofy and fun way to end the day that year! It was a great group of kids and Kalina was a big part of why I loved that class!
It is so cool to hear all about the plans Kalina has now that she looking ahead to college. She is considering majoring in education, social work, or child development. Kalina tells me she would like to attend Appalachian State University next year and is still working on the application process. I am positive that no matter the school, Kalina is going to be successful!
School Details!
Kalina attends Blacksburg High School and is an active member of the Family, Career, Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), works with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and is a member of the National Honors Society (NHS). When not at school, Kalina works at the Children’s Museum of Blacksburg and volunteers at Prices Fork Elementary School. She is one busy girl! Outside of school, Kalina enjoys watching TV or hanging out with her friends. Kalina’s favorite TV shows are Glee, Gossip Girl, and Carrie Diaries. Her favorite movies are La La Land and Mama Mia.
I am so excited to find out what Kalina does end up doing once she’s done with college. I know it will be something really awesome and probably involve early childhood education in some capacity! She just loves working with little kids! I am excited to share more from our session!
