Kathryn + Collins | Virginia Tech Engagement Photographer

What an awesome time I had had with Kathryn and Collins for their Virginia Tech engagement session!

We met early Easter morning for their session. We had to do some rescheduling due to the rainstorms that came through over the weekend. Since both Kathryn and Collins flew in for the session, it was important we make it happen! So early morning it was! I worked out great because there was almost no one out and about at that hour!

Their story…

Kathryn and Collins met in 2009 at western riding team tryouts at Virginia Tech. I loved hearing about their story! Kathryn told me, “We had a wonderful year walking around campus, stargazing, exploring Blacksburg, and getting to know each other. Unfortunately, our careers took us to different parts of the country. After I completed veterinary school in California, the love was rekindled and stronger than before. By now we’ve had hundreds of flights and dozens of road trips to see each other. Time nor distance could stop what was meant to be!” She’s not kidding either! Currently Kathryn lives in Illinois working as an equine veterinarian and Collins lives in Maine working as an engineer!

Engaged…

Now that they were back together and soon became engaged, they didn’t see any reason to have a long engagement. Kathryn said, “we know we want to spend the rest of our lives together, so we want the rest of our lives to start as soon as possible!”

Together…

Collins and Kathryn value the time they have together. They love reading to each other, long walks with their dogs (Hokie and Winter!), creating craft cocktails, and any outdoor adventure.

Now that they are about to get married Kathryn told me she is most excited to “spend the rest of my life with the love of my life. When I think of Collins, I think of Song of Solomon 3:4 ‘I have found the one whom my soul loves.'”

I had the best time with Kathryn and Collins and cannot wait for their wedding in May!
