I was so excited when Dawn reached out to me about her family session. Dawn and Josh have recently grown their family by two! They adopted two awesome young boys named Nick and Aiden! They wanted to have their first family session so they could document how wonderful their family is! They will get to share the portrait at their adoption ceremony!!!
Dawn described her family as “a hot mess of love, attitude, and hope!” What a perfect way to describe a perfect family!! I loved that!!
As a family, they all enjoy reading, music, soccer, and nature. They also love to eat pancakes and listen to music together!
We met at their home in Monroe, Virginia for the session. I couldn’t have asked for a better location! The colors were at their peak on the trees too! I was in awe of them! So amazing!
Dawn described each of her family members to me and I just loved what she had to share. “Nick is extremely perceptive, protective, and full of questions.” I loved how while he was reserved during the session, he gave me hints of his awesomeness! He is one math whiz too!
“Aiden is a free spirit that leaves a trail of dust.” is how Dawn describes her youngest. Besides being absolutely adorable with those big blue eyes and long blonde curls, he is a smart cookie like his brother! He is working hard to keep up with Nick’s math skills and he is hot on his trail. He was showing off those skills for me and I just ate it up!
Dawn told me that Josh is “quiet, loyal, and keeps me sane.” I also saw one awesome dad. The boys both clearly adore him. Even quiet Nick told me that he was super silly. I just loved that!
Dawn herself told me how elated she was to finally be adopting her two boys. There was nothing clearer than that during the session. She 100% adores those two boys. All four of these people are lucky because together they make one amazing family.
Oh.. and Bedford.. we must include him! That adorable dog followed us the total session! He was a sweetie too!
