Taylor and Matt are engaged!!!
I am so excited to share Taylor and Matt’s engagement session! These two are the absolute sweetest!
We met at Hahn Horticulture Gardens on the Virginia Tech Campus in Blacksburg, Virginia for their session. The gardens were in full bloom and there was beauty everywhere!
After walking around the gardens we headed over the Burrus Hall on the VT campus for a few photos too! We can’t photograph Hokies without a campus visit!
Matt and Taylor met on the very first day of college orientation at Virginia Tech, where they lived in the same dorm building. They spent the first half of the fall semester becoming close friends, before they started dating on Halloween of 2014!
I asked them to tell me the story of the big proposal! Matt surprised Taylor with a trip to New Orleans, the first place that they ever road tripped to together. He told Taylor that the trip was for their sixth anniversary, so Taylor was genuinely surprised when Matt got down on one knee on the balcony of their favorite New Orleans restaurant, Muriel’s! How sweet is that?!!!
I asked Taylor to describe Matt to me She shared: Matt can get excited about anything. He absolutely loves learning, and he always has new fun facts about the most random topics. His enthusiasm always extends to whatever anyone else has to say, too – he always wants to listen to your ideas, or your research, or your day… all of it. And he’s so genuinely excited to hear about what makes other people happy, and his enthusiasm is contagious.
Matt also shared this about Taylor: I firmly believe there is nothing Taylor can’t do. She is so hard working and capable, even if she isn’t always confident in her own abilities. She is really only limited by the amount of time she has, and even then manages to find time to make endless gifts and crafts to brighten her friends’ and coworkers’ days. She is an inspiration to me constantly.
These two are the absolute sweetest and I am so excited for their wedding in November! It is going to be at Sinkland Farms! Stay tuned for those photos!!!
