What a super fun family this bunch is!
I have had the pleasure of knowing the Grove family for many years now. Two of them, Hannah and Christian, were in my math class at Blacksburg Middle School! I am one lucky person to know them all!
Bob and Kimberly have three awesome kids: Xander, Hannah, and Christian. This family is adventurous and fun-loving. The boys are into downhill mountain bike racing. Xander also plays rugby on the Blacksburg Rugby team while Christian (a.k.a. “Moose”) plays lacrosse with NRVLC. Hannah is accomplished in her own right. She is an awesome gymnast and tours with the nation’s oldest youth circus, Circus Smirkus. In addition to their individual interests, they all are members of Venture Crew which is an outdoor high adventure group. They go on epic trips such as backpacking slot canyons, caving, kayaking, and rock climbing. Their love of adventure was clearly nurtured by Bob and Kimberly who introduced them to camping at the tender age of six weeks old. They are all outdoor enthusiasts and music lovers.
In addition to what I have already mentioned, they also enjoy spending time together traveling, camping, hiking, cooking, or sitting around the fire pit at home with lots of music and laughter.
I asked Kimberly to tell me a little about each of her wonderful children. “Xander is my peace, love and happiness child. He has an adventurous spirit, music lover and up for anything. He took a gap year after high school and during that time, he toad his bicycle 5400 miles across the country on a bicycle with a dog and his guitar.”
“Hannah is my determined child who sets her sights on goals; she is also a free spirit , a bit hippy and adventurous, she has a love of all things outdoors. She has no fear and is constantly pushing the envelope. She is graduating a year early and is set to attend one of the most prestigious circus colleges in the world, a goal she’s had since the age of 6.” I recently did a session of Hannah showcasing some of her many talents! “Christian, aka Moose, is my level headed, sensitive one who has a quick witted sense of humor; and has some mean hip hop dance moves! He is an incredible chef and whips up creations like Apricot Boursin stuff pork tenderloin, or his signature dessert, maple bread pudding!”
What an amazing job Bob and Kimberly did raising these three. Not only are they brave and have the self confidence to follow their passions, they are kind, intelligent, and loving. It takes a couple of wonderful parents to foster such wonderful humans.
